Good Day to the Creek,
I found that my growing pile of lathe toys was a growing mess.
Frustrating to find spendy accessories when you need them,
and nowhere to put them when finished with them.
So, I did some flatwork, to enhance my round work.
I use 3/4" maple plywood for all my shop cabinets.
Tablesawn dado carcass assembles nicely.
Keen eyes may spot the full 3/4" carcass back, for structural rigidity.
Since I planned to use locking casters, this ensured zero flex.
[tip for hardcore turners - those red things are called clamps]

My planned spindles were 26" long to hang my gear.
Kinda tricky with a 24" lathe.
On my way to finally adding my 20" bed extension, I mounted the bed hinge...
which provided enough bonus bed to turn my desired length of spindle.
Each hinge leaf adds a full inch, for a handy +2.
Keen eyes may spot my tail hanging...

The cabinet has a 3/4" top on the carcass, plus I added another
3/4" top panel wrapped in plastic laminate on both sides.(wanted an overhang)
Just a habit, I always wrap both sides for longterm flatness & durability. (overkill in this case!)
Before mounting the blue-wrapped top, I drilled a pair of 1.5" holes at the drillpress.
It was a pleasure to turn my first round tenons, which press fit sweet and snug.
