I looking into getting an Asturo WB set up but am having a hard time deciding between the gravity kit (http://www.spraygunindustry.com/products/Asturo/WB%20Series%203%20Tip%20Auto.html) and the 2 liter pressure pot kit (http://www.spraygunindustry.com/products/Asturo/X%20Series%20II%20Outfit.html). I think I would opt for a 12' hose for 10.00 more.

Gravity feed Pros:

Easy clean-up
3 tips with the Master Kit
comes with a nice case with a rebuild kit
free extra larger cup

Gravity feed Cons:

Frequent cup refills while spraying
Having the cup attached to the gun makes it less manueverable and harder to get into tight spots.

Pressure pot Pros:

Very light and manueverable gun with no cup attached.
Easy to spray in tight areas, upside down even.
Less refilling during spraying

Pressure pot Cons:

Longer clean up time.
More $ if ordering with more tip sets.

Maybe the longer clean up time for the pressure pot cancels out the extra refilling time for the gravity feed. I do think it is important to have a comfortable and manueverable gun. Anything else to consider?

Thanks

I vote for the pressure-pot setup without hesitation. It definitely adds to the cleanup time and you use more material due to what is in the lines but the benefits more than outweigh these downsides in my opinion. Not having all the material weight at the hand gives you very good control and the ability to spray upside-down inside a cabinet is definitely not to be overlooked if you do that type of work. Before buying I would give Jeff Jewitt at Homestead a call and discuss your needs. Also check out 280383822151 on everyone's (least) favorite auction site. I don't know anything about the pressure-pot but I have the exact gun and could not be happier with it. While you mention a WB setup, I don't know if the units you are looking at are restricted to WB in any way but most guns will spray wb or solvent-based equally well.

I have no affiliation with the seller in the auction I mention above btw.

The asturo WB gun is not restricted to WB but is designed to atomize WB finishes better. Water is a good solvent but has the higher surface tension when compared to the solvent in solvent based finishes. The extra holes in the air cap are design with WB in mind
