Folks I don't visit often anymore but I just know that I'll get some help here like I always did in the past. So I'll say thanks for the ideas now!

I have been asked to build a "BANANA RACK" or holder by a very dear elderly friend. The problem is I don't have any idea what a banana rack looks like built out of wood. Could someone post a link or photo of one so that I can get some idea as to what I'm doing.

Gary,
It is basically a large "C-shape" piece of wood with a base. There is a cup hook near the top of the "C" to hang the bananas from.

Think of the banana shape in profile, cup hook suspending the bananas, and a means to support the thing.

Thats all it is. Was real popular in craft shows about 10-15 years ago.

No pictures, sorry, the one we were given was disposed of years ago.

Like Mike said... used to be a "big" craft item. Never really "caught on"...

I've made a couple of them. Real easy to do.

Uhhh.. What is a banana rack good for? I mean, what difference to the bananas does it make whether it is hanging from a rack or sitting on the counter?

They don't get bruised.
