So my cousin asked me to do something for his old Triumph motorcycle which he is renovating. He wanted something with an Africa theme. The pieces were a nightmare. Each had extreme curves on them and required a great deal of 'outside of the box' actions.

Images for the main case were done using six seperate images. Each image was engraved and then careful rotation to do each in their final position.

Nice job Frank. The line drawing image design is the perfect weight for the job, great balance.

Frank

Thanks for the info. I just had a disaster with Thermark on aluminum tags so I'll give Cermark a try.

Beautiful job! - I've done some work on unusual shapes, and appreciate the difficulties, so for me it makes your results that much more impressive.

That is a great piece of work.....Have the chopper guys from orange county been on the phone yet?

Out of interest, how long did that project take from start to finish, including artwork?

Brilliant!

Having done a few chromed motorcycle parts, I fully appreciate the difficulty of the curves and the "outside the box" thinking required to get the pieces done. Well done! I, as others have stated, think the theme artwork works very well is nicely laid out. I guess you could have written around the Triumph logo "Another Beast Out of Africa". Next time?

Thanks! Actually it took me about 3 weeks of looking at it and an afternoon of laying it out and engraving it.

Frank,
These are great. You know that after other bikers see your work, you'll be busy doing their parts also.

I was so impressed that I wanted to show this work to my wife. I then noticed that it looked on the finished pictures like the Elephant's rear legs was missing but it looked like it engraved on the Cermark. Am I missing something or are my eyes still working?

Maybe the flash reflection was too strong for the camera at that point?

No it is missing, there is a badge that fits over it, hence the three holes in the metal.

Great job, what power and speed did you use?

Frank,

Just had a biker club asked if I could do some work on their Chrome parts - I gave them two conditions - one it would have to be real chrome and not some cheap spray on so it would work and two they would have to polish off and reshine anything they didn't like if it doesn't turn out.

He's bringing me some older pieces by in a week or so to test on... Seeing yours - I know it can be done, now I just have to figure out how...

It's encouragement to see such good work - thanks for sharing... Hopefully I can do the same in a couple weeks...

Speed varied on each piece, actually went down to 3 on one piece but I can't remember which one now. Very slow but rewarding. Steve good luck with yours mate, just be patient and think it all through.
