Narrow Sharkguard

Have any of you sharkguard advocates used or seen the narrow shark guard? If so is there any distinct advantage over the original version?

I have a thin one on order. The advantage I see is being able to have the fence closer to the blade for smaller rips. For me a wide guard would get in my way and make me more apt not to use it.
