DeWalt planer woes

My DeWalt planer has gone on the fritz. The two plastic arms which attach the up and down mechanism to the screws both busted. Has anyone had this problem? Should I attempt to fix it or just junk the whole thing. I have a Parks in reserve.

Well Ed, if I had a Parks planer, the lunchbox would be the reserve machine:D.

How expensive are the replacement parts, and do you still need the portable planer if you have the Parks planer running?
