This piece of wood is estimated to be 3,000 - 4,000 years old. I put a piece off of the scrap next to it to show a before and after. This turned real easy, and has a really nice shine thanks to CA glue, micro mesh, and Hut polish 3, 2, and a little spray of 1.

I had a source for Irish Bog Oak a few years back and have been some pens from it, really is neat stuff.

Lovely pen Michael.
I love this wood. I have an artist's pencil turned from bog oak. It is my personal drawing pencil and I have turned down offers of $100 for it because of the beauty and rarity of bog oak. For me, besides the age of the wood, the most amazing thing about the wood is the grain.
