Hello all, I have the grizzly 17" bandsaw and I love it but the oem blade blows. I'm needing it for more resaw than anything so that being said, what dose everyone recomend for the best resaw blade. Also in looking at a few blades I dont seem to see the length i need. I am assuming a 132" or 133" will work just fine for a 131.5". Please correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks
Joe

Just order the size you need. It shouldn't cost anymore. I have been happy with 131-1/2" Suffolk Machinery 3/4" 2/3 TPI for resaw on the 513. IIRC they run around $20. I also run their 1/4" 10TPI and 1/4" 6TPI for curvy stuff. I use their 1/4" and 1/8" blades on my little 10" machine as well. This type of blade is a consumable but Timberwolf's cost about the same as others and magically show up on my doorstep.

Joe, you might want to measure the saw, I ordered a 131 1/2 from one vendor and it wouldn't work . He said that it was only slightly oversized. I measured and found 131 1/4 was a better size. http://www.allbandsawblades.com/blade_length.htm

I suggest you try a 1/2 wide low tpi bimetal blade. I have used Lennox and Morse, and have heard good things about Starret.

My saw runs a 131 1/2" 3 tpi 1/2" blade beautifully. However, for a 3/16" blade, I need a 131" blade to tension properly. Go figure?

In any event, it's a great saw!
