A few Hollow Forms.

Here are the last two HF's I finished. They are both finished with deft spray and buffed to a shine. the first one is spalted maple 5 1/2" in dia. The second is ambrosia maple 12" by 6" high. Both where hollowed using the #1 hooker tool John Jordan sells.

Jack, The first one in the spalted maple is very appealing and the lovely! I love the round shape and the finish brings out all the beauty in the grain! You have done a fine job on both, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I used the center of roll of duct tape to check the roundness of the first bowl. You can lay the hole in the center of the tape or a piece of PVC pipe on the bowl and slide it around to see if you are close to a sphere. The cool thing about this bowl is that the bottom is just a bit heavy so you can sit it down on it's side and let it go. It will rock around for a minute or more before it stops on it's bottom. I have a large 18" dia. open form drying that I turned from the other half of the ambrosia maple. It is still a few months from dry, but I will post a picture of it when done.
