Can anyone tell me what the tool below is? It is not a zip-tie gun nor a pop rivet gun. There is a front piece with a slot that is pulled back against a spring by squeezing the handle, and the trigger releases it. I just came across it in my shop and am puzzled. Any help would be appreciated.

There is a patent number, but no mfr name. I tried searching on the patent number on the web (even at the US Patent Office) without success.

Thanks.

It kind of looks like a molly screw setter.

You drill the hole, put the molly in and then use it to set it, that way you do not have to screw the screw all the way in to set the molly.

Not sure but that is what it looks like.

Thanks, Bill H. That's exactly what it is. My fading memory kept putting up an image of a molly when I was cudgeling my brain (what little there is nowadays!), but somehow it never quite crystalized.

And thanks, Lee, for the link.
