I need to make a sign for a Christmas display for views to listen on FM Radio. I have few specs other then it has to light up to be visible at night. Example:

Listen on
FM 107.5
I was considering painting the back of a clear acrylic sheet red. Then reverse lasering through the paint. Put this in some sort of thin box with lights behind it.
I’m open to all ideas & suggestions.

How about a sheet of black acrylic with the letters cut (dropped) out. Then cut out the letters from 'Red' translucent acrylic for the FM 107.5 and translucent blue for the 'Listen on'. Inlay the translucent letters into the black sheet and back light. Bet it would look rather impressive.

Just a suggestion.

How would you secure the inlay of letters?

I would use Weld-On #3 applied with a hyperdermic.

I’ve had mixed results with Weld-On. I suppose if the letters where cut to press fit, I could chill the letters to shrink them, press into place, then use the Weld-On. Thanks, I may experiment with this idea.

Tim, if it's black, then you can just put the colored on the backside and you'll be fine. No need to inlay it.
