Opening corel files

Some of the corel files I am opening I save it first as all files and then save it to my documents and can see the file picture in my documents but when I try to open the file nothing comes up. Can some one tell me if I am doing something wrong? Thanks for all the help

My guess is that they are saved in versions higher than you have. The part that displays the icon isn't version sensitive like the actual file, is my guess.
