There is a really great old steam engine, tractor and railroad show in Carthage, NC every fall at Ken Eder's place. He has a great variety (and quantity) of equipment.

I enjoyed scrolling through the photographs. I don't remember the steam powered ones, but do remember the earlier diesels. Loved to watch them in action.

My first interest in steam shovels came from reading a small book as a child. Can't remember the name of the book, but the steam shovel would say said, "Give me room to swing my scoop."

Anyway, it would be great to see some people restore those old beasts.
