No, it's not with the mind of a cup of Champagne, I choose the title. Not at all, but...it's plenty of bubbles !
The idea came when i saw the work of Gianfranco Angelino in the years 1990
The challenge was turn a bowl with yew slices embedded in epoxy resin. The only epoxy at my hand was
araldite® a two components glue. Not the best stuff for the job.
I've turned two (safety) The first has a box rim and box foot H80 X dia110 and the second has a birch burl rim
and no foot H40 X dia120
PS: same items I've seen too by Philip Moulthrop and Brendan Stemp (but no comparison with my attempt)
enjoy, Lionel

Lionel, These are very nice looking and just another way to be creative with what is on hand at the time! They are just plain cool! Thanks for sharing and I will have to give one a go some day!

Those are great Lionel! I've seen a similar concept but not with clear resin. I think I prefer the look of the clear resin. Thanks for posting.

Very cool.

What resin would you think was the best? I have had an idea for a turning with resin but I never knew what to use.

Thanks,

Toney

Hi all,
Thanks for encouragements.
@ Curtis: It's just the stuff I need but unfortunately This item is a shipping hazard and can only ship via ground delivery. I doubt they despatch 1 or 2 L by ship ?
I'll try to find same item here. I've already found one adress.
It's one work to follow....
Friendly,
Lionel

i have the gallon of epoxy from the second link. it work pretty well. i made a cube with the extra i has from filling in some cracks. it is pretty hard. it should work well for casting. its just a little runnier
