Here's a box I made for a buddy and his wife.

Frame is quilted maple, with a cocobolo inlay around the top, and Ebony splines in the miter joints (they were put there to cover up the shoddy job i did on the miters)

Top is Cocobolo with maple inlays.

Inside dividers are walnut and maple

Mark, I think this is a stunner and actually like the corners as a design element, even though you disclosed "why" you did them that way. Outstanding box.

Good looking box Mike. I like the choice of wood, and the corner detail doesn't look out of place at all. Nice job, thanks for sharing it! :)

I have some of that wood here on the bed with me. I also love the edge covers. I know I will use that in the future. I really love the box.

The contrasting wood makes the box scream "look at me".
Great job. Beautiful box.

Well done Mark. I sure like the contrasting woods. And the whole design is very pleasing.

And by the way, the mark of a good craftsman is his ability to hide his mistakes. Ya done good!
