Infrared Thermometer

Looking for an inexpensive yet reasonable reliable infrared thermometer. Any recommendations? Any pitfalls?

I have a partial brick on the west (front) side of my house. In the evenings I can feel the heat radiating off the brick and I'm curious how much of that heat is getting transferred into the house. I want to take readings inside and out throughout the day and plot the points.

Figure it may be useful in identifying places where heat is escaping in the winter too. And for the Weber.

I assume you don't need video of the heat? Try a cooking thermometer. Here's a link for a $100 model on amazon. I'm thinking of getting one as well -- to measure what's coming out of my AC registers, etc.

Check Grainger, they have a reasonable Fluke unit that works quite. I use one in the field to audit welding preheat.

I bought the Raytec version of this one. Raytec is owned by Fluke.

I have the one in the link below and use it many times a week in the kitchen and the BBQ. I have had it a few years and still the original 9v battery. It works fine and I paid $30 for it on special.
