Dad called and said that he pulled a stump from a tree that he fell last year, out of the ground and power washed it off for me! Black walnut is the flavor and surprizingly it is still green!
Anyway, here is a crappy phone picture. The styump is laying on its side and the peice sticking up into the air is the TAP ROOT! It seems that the tap root went sideways instead of straight down. I took some small chunks and sliced them up for pen blanks.. Got them soaking in Dna right now. Loads of really nice graining. More pictures to come and I promise better pictures.
