This is some Honey Locust that had some branches and knots in it. The color is pretty intense in the wood. I'm crossing my fingers that this doesn't crack. It's been soaked in dna for a week and drying for a month before I finished it this weekend. It's 10" x 4.5" and finished with mineral oil with a light hand buffing.
All comments, suggestions, critiques, cat calls, etc. welcomed.

Curt - WOW!

That sure is some amazing wood! Love the color and grain! Great form on the bowl and I really like the small cove on the lip - that's different! Colleen was walking by the computer when I opened this post and she made the comment that your bowl was really pretty - and reminded her of Elm but with lots more color!

So, there you have it! Nice work!

Curt that is a beauty. Wood is really intense. You are right about the wood. I turned a bowl the other day and have two more to rough. Boy is that some thick, hard wood.

I like the shape, and how it brings out the grain and curl.

Great bowl for and wood are out standing! One question? How thick is the bottom? From the one pic it appears as though it is thicker, not a bad thing just curious.

Thanks for all the nice comments!

I don't know Barry, just seemed like the finish to use today. Easy to apply, easy to maintain, made the wood look purty.

Wow, that is some awesome wood! I turned some honey locust and found that it cracks amazing easy. It was still early days for my DNA work. I am better at it now but haven't risked it. Do keep us posted on your results with this bowl. I for one would like to know how it turns out.
