Where can I find the modification to the vari-grind that removes or otherwise swaps out the spring? I've abandoned the Tormek as it is too slow for my impatient self.

Thanks,
Burt

Anyone know what the differences are between the two kits?

First kit is $14.99 and the second is $12.99.

Judging by the look of it, I'll make my own.

Thanks,

The $14.99 kit is made by One Way. The $12.99 kit is made by the folks who sell the Holdfast vacuum chuck. The Holdfast folks introduced their upgrade kit in 2008 - at least I first saw it at the 2008 Utah Woodturning Symposium. Not to be outdone regarding their own product, OneWay introduced its version this year.

The kits are similar, except that the OneWay kit has a brass screw head and a plastic cap that fits over the bearing.
