Hi -

You should see the small crosscut (16TPI) in the fall (same size as the current dovetail), followed by a fine(r) dovetail saw (20TPI). Last one will be a larger carcass saw... possibly Christmas, but still not sure...

Cheers -

There is much discussion about setting the teeth of a 20 tpi saw. I have set small teeth by clamping the saw upside down in a smooth jawed machinist's vise I often have had to grind the teeth off such vises to have smooth jaws). With the teeth just protruding above the vise jaws, using a small flat nose punch and a small hammer, I've set the teeth on many a saw. BUT,you need to be consistent with the hammer taps. Afterwards, you can even up the set by carefully squeezing the set down with the vise.

This does take skill.

I have an antique saw set that will do very small teeth, but I'm not up on what available current saw setters might be able to do. I have only bought my saw setters at flea markets.
