I am not sure what to call it and can not seem to find it online, but I am looking for a better tool rest assembly for my Rockwell/Delta 46-450 lathe. I noticed a much better rest on Bob Hamilton's videos with his Nova lathe than the stock one I have.

Any one have any ideas or web site to look at them?

Also am going to eventually be looking for something for outbound turning for the 46-450.

You might try Oneway. I know they have one that will fit the 16" Delta, not sure about the 12" model.

Lyle Bob has bought the Onway banjo for his lathe, there are many people that have bought the Oneway banjo for their Powermatic and Jet , Delta etc lathes as they all have the problem of a banjo that won't stay put as well as the Oneway banjo.
They aren't cheap, as you do pay for the Oneway quality, but it's the best around IMO.

Hi, Lyle:
The toolrest base, or banjo, that I am using now on my DVR is a Oneway. I got it because I was having vibration issues when cutting out near the end of my large curved toolrest when it was mounted in the stock Nova banjo. The Oneway is a massive piece of equipment and a huge step up from the OEM base but it sure ain't cheap. I did have some issues to deal with before I could get it to work with the Nova bed but now that it does I like it fine. I do know a fellow that bought one for use on an old Rockwell lathe and he did not mention any compatability problems.

Oneway's page for toolrest bases is: http://www.oneway.ca/lathes/non-oneway.htm

Take care
Bob
