This is a open segmented bowl I just finished. Made of walnut, cherry and maple. 4"H x 6"D.

holy cats! That's really good.
Like was asked before, could we see a profile pic?

I'm jealous, my kids wouldn't allow either my wife or I the time to get something that intricate done.

I am usually not a big fan of segmented bowls but HOLY COW it that cool! I agree, we need more pictures and details about the construction.

Nice, very nice.

I really wish I could use frofanities.......completely STUNNING!!! I'm working on my first piece and want to get away from the segmented indian stuff....I admire the indian stuff, but you're style is more up my alley. once again :eek::eek: I can't say how amazing that is. The originallity is breathtaking...seriously.

Tom - thanks for the profile photo! This one really showcases the amount of work you put in! Great job on being able to align everything and maintain your pattern!

Also thanks for additional photo. Photography is a whole 'nuther vortex to fall into. Probably one vortex at a time is good. What sort of jig or alignment fixture did you use?

The cool thing about open segments is that your miter angle can be off by half a degree and it can not be seen and doesn't matter. Alignment is more important.

Tom, You have the patience of a monk to be able to do that and not go goofy!! Great piece of segmented work, I think I could make about 2000 of those with all the little chunks I have sitting around! But they usually heat the shop in the winter!

Thanks for showing it to us,

Jeff

Tom,
I really like it, very nice.
That is a lot of detail in a small bowl.
This is one of those turning that I have to look at for a long time to take in everything.

Thanks for sharing this.

Tom,

Who cares if you can take pictures, when you can create a bowl like this one! Outstanding job!
