Redwood Burl bowl

Here's a nice redwood burl I just finished. It measures 10-7/8" by 3-1/4" by 1/4", I finished it with Antique oil and than buffed using the beal system. This is one of several I've just finished, I'll post another one tomorrow.

There are several outfits on the web that sell redwood burl. The stuff I get comes from a guy I know, there his scraps, even through sometimes there huge.

Frank, great form on that bowl. I love the foot. The redwood I turned was very soft. You managed a nice smooth, clean cut. Was that the result of shear scraping or 60 grit? Again, nice job!
