Here are some pictures of a project I have been turning for a friend of mine through the FPP. He contacted me about turning a bat for a customer of his who is a big LSU fan. He wanted a bat turned out of Purpleheart but did not have a lathe big enough. He wanted to know if I could help him out. I had never turned a bat before, but said I would give it a try. He had the blank laminated up, brought it to me and I went to work on it. I cut the blank to about 3X3X34 1/2. The finished bat will be 34'' long. I have one more coat of finish to put on it and it should be ready. For my first try, I think it came out pretty good.
