Who makes a good quality drag style engraver. I am looking for something small to do name plates, but robust enough to handle around 10k pieces a year.

I would like to stay under $5k and prefer a computer driven interface.

Opinions??

One of the small rolands will do just fine , a 2nd hand pnc 2300a or the like , even a lesser machine will do.

At the price you want to pay I think you'll have to look at used equipment.

Newing Hall, New Hermes, Visions, Quality One, Xenetech, etc.

I was recently asked to do a job that could be done with a drag or maybe a rotory. The guy wanted some text on the top side of the base on a chalise (SPELLING?). Is there anyone within a 50 to 75 mile range of me that can do that? He supposedly asked a few of the businesses I know of and they said they could not or would not. He has a couple of weeks before he needs it fininshed.
