Does anyone have closeup pix of how to mount a mini cyclone to your shop vac? I like the Dust Deputy concept (bucket in a bucket) but I can't find closeups to figure out what kind of bracket to make to mount one to the other....
Any help or alt suggestions appreciated

The dust deputy comes with some foam blocks, long bolts, washers and nuts, to screw through the shop vac.
I didn't want to do that, in case it is ever needed for wet use.

They also have a page of other possible mountings, which include straps (bungie, zip ties, etc), velcro, bolting it to a platform that rides on two wheels (like some shop vac accessories), dollies, and homebuilt carts.

Maybe mount the mini and bucket on a rolling base, and attach that to the vac, say, like a train coupler so it pivots. Or hard mount it so it moves as one piece. Or both units mounted on another roll around base.
Or if you haven't purchased the mini or vac, go the route of the Clear Vue that mounts directly to the Rigid vac that has the convertible motor to also use as a blower unit. It replaces the top of the vac, then the motor attaches to the side and it all rolls on the Rigid vac's base. You can still put the original top on with the blower to use for wet use. The vac's filter even mounts to the CV unit. Jim.

Thanks, guys. I've had the CVMini for a couple years now, on it's own 'train' rolling base. It's a PITA for me. The footprint's too large, and it just doesn't flow as conveniently as one'd think.

Try a Thien baffle in a bucket:

My baffle is now solid - I experimented with the Styrofoam. This simple design works surprisingly well ( Thien site (http://www.cgallery.com/smf/index.php?PHPSESSID=40e6cd0ff5c5c66131076b031766f0 41&board=1.0)) and it's almost free.

Thanks, Mike. I'm happy with the Clearvue Mini. I just want it to be mounted to my shopvac in a better way.

Check out the clearview forum. http://www.gallery2.clearvuecyclones.com/v/Mini+CV06/

They have several examples of carts and such that clear view mini owners have built. Some designs are much more refined designs than others.

I have installed this and it is great. I use the base of an old shop vac and made the top. It works great. I keep checking the filter because I always was getting saw dust flour in my filter and it is just turning that faint brown and there is not dust in the shop vac itself.

I made a frame with PVC pipe and ply to stack mine. The Rigid's rear feet have protrusions for wand storage that the PVC slips right over. Gravity does the rest. The plywood platform rests on the vacs top handle. I considered ordering a couple extra rear feet and putting them on the front for a 4-post configuration, but it seems plenty stable as is.

That's very clever... I LOVE pvc.

Lately (especially when using a reducer to 1 1/2" for circ saw or sander) the hose tends to collapse out of the cyclone into the shopvac. I'm thinking to make that bend out of pvc.

Wish they had shopvac to pvc adapters....

The clever part wasn't so much me. Pinched the basic idea from another SMC post awhile back. Never have been able to find it again though. So whoever it was ...thanks. :D
