The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn.

Sidney Poitier does a wonderful job as an old carpenter.

The movie is worth it just for the tail-less woodworking tools and scenes. My wife and I saw it on Netflix Instant Play. I highly recommend it.

Sidney Poitier makes himself very believable as a woodworker in this movie. The support cast is not great however Sidney has plenty enough talent to carry this movie on his own. It's well worth the time spent.

I own the DVD and have watched it a few times as I love the emotion and spirit of the story. As much as I think the world of Sidney Poitier as an actor, and as much as I love the scene where handtools triumph over power, he is no woodworker. He certainly tried hard but planed with the most unusual posture.

Another movie that is really worth watching is "A Simple Curve". This is set in Canada and is the story of a father and son woodworking team facing the realities of staying afloat.

Thanks men,
Now I'm intrigued... I'm gonna search for both of these titles.
Curious that both movie titles contain the word 'simple'.
Connection or coincidence?
I'll have to do the homework to find out!
be well,
Walt

ps we still have plenty of trees up here in Canada...
