I'm getting ready to make crown moulding on my table saw. The last time I did this, about 3-4 years ago, I used a crown calculator I found online. I can't seem to find it now.

Anyone know of a great crown calculator? You plug in your width of board, the depth of crown you want, and it tells you the angle to place the guide board on your saw...

P.S. Jim, perhaps checking for cove cutting will yield better results........Rod.

Last time I did it I didn't use a calculator. The dept of the cove is the heigh of the blade. Figure out how far in each side of the board you want the cove to start. put a mark to the left of the blade at the front of the blade the distance in that you want the cove to start. Add that value to the width of the cove and mark that to the left of the blade at the back of the blade. Connect the marks with a board. I hope I got that right . It has been awhile.

I recently used the cove template from http://www.woodgears.ca to cut some asymetric coves, and it worked very well. I'm pretty sure he also has a regualr symetric cove table or calculator on his site as well. I think it's under the "machinery" section.
