After completing the redecorating of our former living room (now a combination dining room and sitting area), we needed an end table for the reading chair. This is the result of that effort. I won’t bore you with the whole process of how I made the table but if you’re even mildly interested in reading about the build process, you can catch it on my website article at: http://www.oldaveswoodshop.com/End%20Table.php (http://www.oldaveswoodshop.com/End%20Table.php)

Dave,

I really like the look of the end table. I have been considering building a new end table for our guest bedroom. I may use this idea. Thanks for posting and I'll definitely check out your site.

Clean and simple... get er done. I like the slat approach to the bottom shelf in lieu of solid. May borrow that in the future.

Looking good...

Hi Dave,
Congrats on your handsome end table.
Yes, wiping stain on maple is dodgey at best.
Sorry you had to find out the honest way. (hard way)
Spraying more stain on top is what they call a 'glaze'.

keep up the good work,
thanks for giving us a peek,
Walt

ps I like your foot detail, which is more visible in your linked pics

Dave, nice project and I enjoyed looking through the progress pics on your website - good tutorial. The table turned out very well, and I like the design. The only suggestion I would make is that the handle looks a bit light weight for the size of the drawer front - would a little heavier handle look better? May not be possible, as you may be matching hardware to other furniture. Just a thought.
