I learned today that you, or at least I can't, drill a router mounting plate with a hand held drill.

Anyway, anybody know for sure if the Freud predrilled plate for a FT1700VCE is their part # BF4017?

Also sources for purchase said plate, worth the $20 to lessen aggravation.

Thanks

I recently purchased the 9x12 Freud aluminum insert plate for use with my FT1702VCEK. The part number that was given to me by Freud CS was 35000.0305. The plate I received was predrilled to accept my router and also included provisions for the above the table height adjustment feature.

When I called Freud CS, they gave me a couple of local places that I could order the plate through. IIRC, I had the plate about a week after I placed the order. If you're talking about the same plate that I am, the amount I paid was quite a bit north of $20.

Rockler has the blue aluminum equivalent.

Check your manual. It may have the number. IIRC this router has a slightly different pattern and some plates would require re-drilling for it to fit. I took a look at my plate, it has no part number on it. I got the router and plate as a kit.

Thanks for the info. Looked at rockler, they have changed the size of their plates to something other than standard 9 x 12.

1st rule of engineering I was taught in my 1st job, "standardize."

Thanks

The Rockler plates have never been the "standard" 9x12 inches.
