It's not finished yet, but it's close. I still need to plug the holes and put some shellac on it. What do you think?

Jeff, Very nice project. I really like that grain on the ambrosia maple. Great job. Craig

That is very nice!
But why do you call it a "shoe bench"? I dont see any place to store shoes.

That's a great looking bench Jeff. I really like your choice in wood.

Very clean design, Jeff. You did a nice job on the round-overs and.. anything beyond shellac or some type of clear finish would not do justice to the ambrosia which stands alone.

Well done...

Because that is where I sit to change my shoes. ;) I'm tired of sitting on the floor, and most chairs are too high, so this needed to be in between. It sits about 15" high.

Mr. Rogers never had it so good! Great job on the bench. The wood is beautiful.

Nice project with a practical theme! That is a nice wide board you used for the leg bases, and the grain and figure of the maple is superb. Nice job.

And Loftis, that was a cute post:)

I love that bench! It is practical and you made an excellent choice of wood. I have always liked Ambrosia Maple, but have never used it in anything with that much surface area. I like how you chose to use the most "figured" parts for the tops.

Some inspiring ideas are starting to come to mind for the stock I have had in the racks for a while now. ;)
