I made four chairs for the new sewing room. They are designed after a chair at her local sewing shop. The casters are 2 1/2" in diameter to allow easier movement on carpet. The seat is hinged on the front edge allowing for more storage! The seat back is in two pieces; a 1/2" thick piece and a 1/4" thick piece, both plywood. The 1/2" piece has three 10/24 threaded inserts. The matching 1/4" back has a through hole to allow the brass screw to enter from the back and attach the front 1/2" piece, creating a sandwich effect. The two pieces will be upholstered separately and screwed together.
