I have on of the jet 14in closed bandsaws and I really love it...except I would like more space and power. I seen a Ricon the other day that looked really nice, I think it was 2.5hp 18in 220v that was less than $1200 seemed very nice compared to other prices in this range of machine I have seen.

Looking for overall performance, capacity, power...in this general price range, size. I thought about putting in the spacer on the one I have but can only imagine that power becomes an issue quickly?

cheers,

I just started a thread (New Bandsaw) about the Laguna I just had delivered. Are you looking for more horsepower, more resaw capacity, more crosscut capacity, or all three? If the crosscut capacity is insignificant, one of the offerings from Laguna may fall in with what you are willing to pay, without making a sacrifice on the other two. Check out the thread to get my impressions.

I love my 19'' Grizzly bandsaw. Before getting it I had a 14'' Jet. The bigger Grizzly was a big upgrade. It has a large table and a very nice fence and lots of power.

in the bang for the buck category. If you scroll down this page (http://www.grizzly.com/products/g0513) to the bottom, there are a number of models w/ prices. I haven't seen many negative comments about the Griz band saws. The mobile bases are not as well regarded but the saws seem fine.

In that price range, I agree, Grizzly & Rikon are likely to give the most bang for the buck.

With > 2k to spend, I'd be looking at Agazanni, Minimax, and Laguna.

You can't go wrong with a 18" Rikon, a 17" Grizzly, or a 19" Grizzly. I moved from a 14" Delta to a G0513x2 and couldn't be happier.

Agazzani 20" is hard to beat in $2000-$3000 price range, reasonable price and a joy to use. Contact Eagle Tools and talk to Jesse. He really knows band saws.
