This is turned from Fruit Cherry. It's 9.5" tall by 3" diameter. The lid is from the same piece of wood. It's finished with Danish Oil, then waxed and buffed.

I agree with Tom, the workmanship looks wonderful. The finish is nice the shape if great, the lid gives it an elegant look and the wood with the crack and knots add tons of character! It looks like it was a fun one to do,

Thanks for sharing,

Jeff

Curt,

I really like the box. The form and the wood are special. Forgive my wondering what someone would do with it (other than admire it's beauty), but is it tall enough to hold spaghetti? Seems like it would look just right in a country kitchen. My only question is what would it hold.

David, that's the $64,000 question I ask everytime I turn something. "What's it for?" I've never grasped the concept of some buying something just for the heck of it, just because they like it. I don't know what anyone else would put in it, but I make a home brewed concoction of sun tea from 4 green tea bags, 1 black tea bag, and 1 spicy type chai. So I'll probably use this for one of the varieties of tea bags along with a couple similar tall boxes I've turned.

BTW, the inside of this box is 6.75" deep, not quite deep enough to hold spaghetti. But you have me thinking now.

Curt,
I LIKE IT!!!
It is a different style than we usually see and the wood is gorgeous. You did a great job turning it and finishing it.

I like the design on this Curt. Spaghetti box would be perfect in this design/form.
