I just finished the cleanup of my Delta model 34-350 12"-14" table saw. The saw originally came out of the Seattle School system. It was in decent shape for a school saw, but the arbor bearings were shot (rumbled). I changed both the arbor and motor bearings (original 3 phase, 5HP, 208 volt Delta/Baldor motor), repainted the tub and accessories, cleaned up everything else, and installed a TECO VFD. It seems to work fine. I got it running Thursday, got everything adjusted and wired the remote switch Saturday, and cut some wood. It passes the penny test, and seems to work very well. I still need to refinish the miter gauge, finish or laminate the rip fence faces, clean up the outside rims of the handwheels, touch up the paint and do some more work on the top, but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, especially for my first non-Neander old iron restoration.

Awesome score and congrats! That is one impressive looking saw and I am sure you will get some good use out of it. Nice job refurbishing!

I have two friends that have that saw. I wish I had one. I don't understand what you mean by remote.

The paddle stop switch. Since the saw is 3 phase I am running it through a TECO variable frequency drive, which makes the old magnetic starter unnecessary; in fact, you aren't supposed to switch the output (3 phase) leads from a VFD on and off. You can start, stop and control the speed from the front panel of the VFD, but the buttons are pretty small and the VFD is up under the front edge of the saw. However, it also has 12 volt dc outputs for external start/stop, reverse and speed control. I wired the start control through a Grizzly on/off paddle switch and mounted it on the left front of the saw in the same location as the on/off switch on all the other saws I use. Since the switch is rated for 3 HP 250 volts, switching 12VDC it should last forever.
