I posted the other day about a drill press that I found behind a machine shop. I asked & they let me take it :cool:
This thing is pretty cool. It has a 600V motor setup - is that the same as 3 phase or something completely different?
It also has an elecric power feeder to work the spindle. I have not looked closely - but if I can somehow get this working Maybe I can use it for an oscillating sander setup also - we'll see.
Everything spins & moves pretty freely so I'm pretty sure I'll have a heavy duty drill press for FREE if my 1/2 HP motor works OK.
I have a 1/2 HP 110 motor I'm going to swap in & see if it is powerful enough - the consensus seems to be that it will be.
Anyway I said I'd post pics so I borrowed the digital camera from work & here they are. I don't want to unload it by myself & unfortunately it rained last night so it got a little wet. I'll bring it in tomorrow & wipe it all down with wd40.
