I'm about ready to finish some Q-Sawn White Oak panels and a few have knot holes I have to deal with. They are a little to big to let the finish fill, but not to big to consider not having used the wood. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can fill them with before staining and finishing?

The sky is the limit. Wood filler, epoxy, tinted epoxy, plaster of paris, tinted plaster of paris, bondo, glue, sawdust and glue, wood (now there's a thought...), turquoise (gross), silver, ... ?

What look are you going for? How big a hoe / crack?

Imagine a knot that is not a hole, but the wood around it is pulled away enough so you can't just finish it. I was hopng for a simple purchased filler that is black or dark brown. Something quick and easy.

Thanks,

That's exactly what I'll try!
