Building a large cedar/fir garden storage box for my wife. It is coming out nicely, but I am a little stuck on how to hinge the top. The top will be about 25 deep by 46 wide and is made of joined 3/4 cedar. I would also like a stop of some type to keep the lid from falling on heads. This does not have to be part of the hinge mechanism. The hinges would need to attach to the lid (of course) and the frame of the box are 1 1/2 thick fir frame (got some very old reclaimed wood for this - not the home center variety). Any suggestions and/or sources for the best hinges would be appreciated. Pics always helpful too.

My darn camera battery is dead, but here are some pics I found similar to how my bench is constructed. The hinges here look pretty fancy on that first one. Piano hinge on the second? I'd like these to be able to open all the way up.

Somethink like this? Holdsto open at 95 degress, but counterweights so the lid can't clam shut
