These are 2 doll cradles I built. They are maple and purple heart. One of them is an xmas present. They are 19" x 14" x 10". Decided to build 2 as long as I was making one.

Thanks for the great compliments.

I was goign to do a normal cove and bead type spindle along the side but I couldn't come up with something that looked right. Everything I came up with was too busy. Then one day I was looking at a article on building windsor chairs. I was looking at the design of the spindles used in the back of the chair. I really like how graceful they tapered. That is when I said that's it. The ends and bottom are floating so they can move. I spent 2 nights just tweaking the jig for the arched rails at each end. I cut them on the shaper. The first side spindles I did took about 45 minutes but after 20 of them I was down to 25 minutes. It was a fun project.
