Mortise Pal Question

Does anyone know if you can use the mortise pal to rout slots on long and narrow stock with out having to keep unclamping it? Will it slide down the board and stay in the center of the piece?

I haven't tried this.

The bushing for the mortise pal is intentionally a loose fit in the templates, so your router won't be held tight for a single pass cut.

Is there some reason that a guide with double fence wouldn't work for you?
(it will require some trial and error to get it centered -- the alignment marks are a nice feature of the mortise pal -- but you can customize your fences to any height you need for stability)
