Are NE and WB's generally turned to completion green, or allowed to dry and finish turned a la standard bowls? The Grumbine video shows both completed green. Thanks,
Dan

Dan,
I've only turned one winged bowl. But I typically turn NEs to finish green.
I think some turn and then DNA then finish turn.

Dan, all my ne's are green turned and allowed to move. Seems to enhance the shape after a bit. The winged stuff I twice turn allowing extra thickness at the wings for twisting ect. ...Bill..

Dan - I have turned a few winged bowls and have had the best luck of roughing them out, DNA soak and then finish turn once they dried. The few that I turned green to finish have all checked - some of them pretty bad. Haven't gotten into the NE turnings yet - so can't advise on those.

I DNA all of them. I have had better luck that way. Only exception was Mesquite. It did not move at all.

Thanks. I have some small apple pieces, think I'll try a NE all at one go.

I normally turn to completion.
