I have a cast-iron tablesaw extension wing that doubles as a router table (Grizzly).

Looking for ideas on how to build a fence for it. Maybe something that would slip onto my Biesemeyer. Dust collection is a concern, too.

Got pics of something you've built that you'd be willing to share?

Thanks.

Grip-Tite sub fence clamp?

Available from your local W/C? I haven't bought a pair yet, I've seen them and was thinking of getting them. Cheap. Removable.

Not for table saw tables (http://patwarner.com/images/rtf_opener.jpg).

I have an Incra ultra mini (or something like that!) that I use in my wood router table, so I don't have any pics of what I was planning to build before I bought it. But the basic features I knew I wanted was a split fence with dust collection. The Incra has to be bolted down, which I would hesitate to do into cast iron. But I did find a lot of examples out there of home built split router fences.

A guy named Kidder has a page with some mods he did to his contractor's saw at this link (http://home.comcast.net/~kidder/Audio/Tools/Table%20Saw/table_saw_mod.htm), and while he built his own fence from scratch to replace the cheesy one he had before, the way he attached the router fence might give you some ideas:

I was not aware of the plans Abrams makes available for his router bench until after I built mine. It's ten times better!

Check out my gallery, I built a dedicated router table w/ fence that I slip over the table saw fence for a tall dable saw fence w/ the buit-in dust control. This design could be used for your need too. I originally wanted to build a router table into the stable saw wing but went the dedected table route anyway. This design has storage too.

Jason, talk to your local Steel City vendor, maybe they will sell you a shaper fence..........Rod.

I built a variation on the Wood Magazine router table fence from a couple of years ago, and it is easily clamped to a table saw fence if that is your setup. It has worked well. Here are some photos on another post:

The Incra Wonder fence says it will operate as a stand alone router fence or attach to their TS-III table saw fence. Not sure if it will mount to other brad TS fences...

If the fence will use t-bolts in slots, Rockler is blowing out their old style fences for $30. (http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=1383&filter=Rockler%20Outlet) I have used this type of fence on my router table for years and at $30, I have one for my DP as well.

The latest ShopNotes issue has an interesting design that clamps on to your table saw fence, including support for dust collection.

I initially built a fence to clamp to my ts fence for my router, mounted in the ts extension.
I have since switched to a separate fence.
There were a lot of times I wanted to use the ts to rip, without moving the fence for the router.
A great improvement.

Jason

I am building the fence noted by Roger from the latest Shopnotes.
I also have the BenchDog table saw wing.

The ShopNotes fastens to the table saw fence and and includes dust collection.
I am adding a track to mount feather boards, stops, etc.

I am tired of dealing with the BD fence. by clamping to my Bies fence, I get the
easy accurate adjustments that I am mainly looking for.

Good Luck
John
