View Full Version : Ridgid EB4424 Spindle Sander - DC Improvement

I couldn't find the post where I mentioned this so here you go whoever it was that asked. A 2-1/2" wye with one leg enlarged on the inside diameter to fit a shop vac (use the spindle sander for this . . . duh), a rubber coupler from the BORG and some flex hose.

I have a few tools in this part of the shop that trigger the shop vac. I just move the hose from machine to machine. The rigid flex really allows you to get in close without touching the abrasive:

That should help a bunch....

I put some tape over half the openings in the back, going from right to left and that also will help but not as much as this.

The hose is easy to move in and out of the way of different operations and has worked well for me. SMC Member Simon also had a much more sophisticated one here: http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?130003-A-dust-hood-for-Ridgid-oscillating-sander
