Hi all
This is a writing desk set I just finished based on a couple of Greene and Greene pieces. The desk is based on one from the Blacker house it is made of California walnut, ebony and abalone. The top and side panels are veneered and the rest of the desk is from solid wood. The chair is based on one from the Thorsen house, it is made of CA walnut, ebony, cherry, white oak, sterling silver, abalone and mother of pearl.

That's a very handsome desk. Using California walnut, ebony and abalone is quite appropriate for a Greene and Greene style desk. I like the added look of the abalone.

Tom, I am not well versed in Greene and Greene, but from the little I have absorbed, this appears to be a faithful production - very well executed, and the veneer work is beautiful. As much as I like the desk, the chair appears to be an equally impressive piece, and like Bruce, I would like to see more detail pics of the chair - and some closeup shots of some of the joinery on the desk.

Excellent work!

Impressive work! I noticed the desk legs don't have much taper... Is that typical of G&G style? Stunning figure on the desk! Love the details of the chair back!
Can't decide which I like better.... both are excellent!!!!
What made you decide of that particular pattern/color for the seats cushion?

The walnut chair has a black leather seat. I choose that color because the piece will be in a show and it is goes well with anything. The mahogany chairs had fabric supplied by the client, which I thought went well with the piece.
