I was thinking about building some different knives for my dad and buddies. Anyone have a good place / idea to start? Don't want to do any metal work, just building/shaping the wood / install on the blades, etc.

I've seen some kits online but they don't give much info as to difficultly or tools needed?

Thanks,

Travis

Google Jantz. They have blades and supplies.

If you Google 'Darrel Ralph knife kits' you'll find lots of info that may help. Ralph even has a video available that walks the viewer through making a fixed blade knife from one of his kits. Also, if you email him directly I expect he will take the time to answer some of your specific questions.

I get my kits from Texas Knifemakers Supply.
The one below is made with a Padauk Handle. The scale material is pricey, I've found there are always small scraps of figured stock in the shop that are too small for other projects but are great for knife scales.
Good luck and have fun, knifes are fun to make.
