Just finished these last week. Silver maple bowl, 9-1/2" across finished with teak oil and buffed. This is the biggest bowl I've done so far, learned the advantages of a long handle on a bowl gouge. The platter is Honey Locust, just under 10" across, teak oil and buffed also. Used a little CA glue in the bark inclusion on the rim.

Both look nice. I like the grain balance on the bowl.

Jon - very nice work on both turnings! I really like the slanted rim on your bowl! Great form on the platter! Love all the grain & curl! Nice work!

Nice work Jon. Ditto what they said on the grain balance and slant edge of the bowl.
