I finally decided to get this router. Amazon has it on sale for 219.99 with a free edge guide. American Woodworker voted this combination fixed/plunge the best recently and they listed a price of 380.00. So, this seemed like a pretty good deal.

You are right, I was looking at the catalog price of 229.00, the web site has it for 219.99
