Looks nice from what I can tell. Did you drive down to Steve's or have it shipped. Haven't been up there in awhile with the price of gas.

Have fun...

Hi John
I had them ship it to me.I also had them run it through their big planer to save me some time plus take off a little weight for shipping. Still came in at 2300lbs.

Eiji:

You have good reason to be confused about names. The names you see in the States are marketing names and have nothing to do with reality. Below are just a few that are marketing names and have nothing to do with reality. I am guilty also.

I work with new species that have never been marketed in the States and most marketing name are created over a couple bottles of rum. The local names here vary from river to river and village to village so we make up what looks to be descriptive. We do work hard and long to find out what the real scientific name is before we market the wood. This process can sometimes take years as a good percentage of the woods here in the Amazon have never been named and many have dozens of scientific names and many named in a hurry to publish a book or something and not correct.

Brazilian Cherry-----Nothing to do with Cherry
Brazilian Oak-------Nothing to do with Oak
Brazilian Teak -----Nothing to do with teak
Brazilian Chestnut---Nothing to do with chestnut
Santos Mahogany---Nothing to do with Mahogany
