Crop circles? Aliens? What happened to it?

I take it there's no chance of that springing back up like mashed down grass.

Sorry for the loss...I love sweet corn.

Be well,

Doc

David, how hard was that wind blowing? I just had a hail storm roll through here and tear up some fields. Love the danged weather...

The stalks are not broken so it should recover although it probably won't pollinate quite as well as undamaged corn. The wind took down lots of trees and big limbs in the area and blew 12 railroad cars off the track a few miles away.

I was in IN one time. There was this huge cornfield. Is that near to you?

If the stalks are not broken off, they will stand back up in a few days. They may be a bit crooked, but they will produce. This happens a couple of times each year to my corn crop. Not this year though. the whole crop is a total disaster. I had 9 whole seeds germinate, and they are about 3" tall and sick looking. Tomorrow they get introduced to the rototiller.
