I just finished this up for my wife as she has been asking for a jewelry box for sometime now. I followed Norms plans and made this out of cherry. Used only two boards to make it. I finished it with BLO then garnet shellac then rocklers wundercote. That stuff was great to use to wipe on and off.

Very cool, Mike!!! I really like the hidden drawer.... I'll have to figure out how to do one of those....

I was never very good in a corporate environment.... they kept telling me to "think outside the box"... and I always said "why"?

Nice job Mike. I am not familar with Norm's plan (or anyone else's for that matter :)) but I love the bottom drawer. A question as I pretty much see how it works but.. when you pull it out what keeps the front feet from draggng? Or.. do you have to slightly lift it?

Just curious... again nicely done.

Sarge..

I missed that Norm segment, but sure looks like you did ol' Norm proud!! Great job, and comments on the finish are appropriate - very nice color and sheen. Excellent

Thanks everyone. It was a fun project to make.

John to answer your question the hidden draw is about a business card thick shorter than the stationary legs so there is no drag to scrap the dresser it will sit on.

Nice job on that, Mike! That was one of my favorite projects that I did a number of years ago. Great design and just the right size for the intended purpose. The one deviation I made on mine was to do a solid cherry back for it since I had some 1/4" material available after some resawing for something else. I also put some dividers and sliding trays in some of the drawers using some 1/8" thick ash that I resawed for the purpose.

Are there plans available for this design? I really like what you've done.
